There are Chinook spread throughout the inlet and the first real hogs that Rivers Inlet is famous for with a 47lb. Chinook coming in off Marker 16 (only 5 minutes from the Resort). Good numbers of fish in the 20 to 40lb. range have been coming in from the wall all the way to the waters infront of King Salmon. The fishing has been consistent and quite productive.
Pink salmon, on the other hand, are everywhere in huge abundance and provide virtually non-stop action for guests who visit the Wall and fish the mid portion of the inlet (Draney). By now, the Pinks should be spread througout the entire inlet as this is a big run year for Rivers Inlet.
Coho have been showing up in moost fish boxes at the end of the day and some are surprisingly large for this time of year. Those who are looking for bottom fish have been rewarded with consistent catches of 10 to 30 lbs. halibut and 5 to 20 lb. Ling along with the usual smattering of rockfish and other spiny, strange looking bottom dwelling creatures.
