Head's up

King Salmon Resort - August 8, 2007

Hi all,T-rev here! We've been getting the big ones here at the same old spots (Marker 16,the Slide and McPhee Bay) while Kilbella has cooled off a bit. No problem thought since we still are fishing just minutes from our front door.

Out at the Mouth guests have been picking up some nice Coho but we're still waiting for them to make their way up the inlet. We've also had some really nice Chinook come in out there. Draney Inlet is still producing some stellar bottom fishing.

But if it's the trophy salmon you're after (and aren't we all?) then fish the head of the inlet hard. And remember: patience. When you get one on play it patiently as most big fish are lost at the boat.

King Salmon guest Chris Green must be as patient as a Zen master. He masterfully played a 56 lb. Chinook to the boat…and won. Nice work, Chris!
