King Salmon Resort in Rivers Inlet is open for the season, and it looks like 2004 is going to be fun! Today saw an assortment of fish, including 16 lb Coho, a 60 lb hali, and a 40 lb Ling. But the real reason anglers trek up to Rivers Inlet is for the King salmon. Fishing up here, you can almost feel the season approaching as the average weight starts to pick up. In the past week, Chinook salmon weights have gone from the twenties to a beautiful 35 lber caught earlier today.
